Supermoto

The majority of Supermoto bikes are motocross bikes whose brakes are not up to the increased speeds and braking force required. Improving the brakes is likely to be one of the first upgrades that you should consider.

Also, the bore on a standard motocross master cylinder (typically 12mm) will probably be too small to supply the required amount of power to the caliper to make the most of the increased braking performance.

Our kits and conversions are built around the 6 piston monoblock caliper. Whilst initailly it may seem that this is overkill, consider that a 250cc sport bike has comparable performance and weight to a Supermoto bike and runs twin calipers and discs. Also, combining the 6 piston caliper with an adjustable ratio master cylinder allows the braking performance and feel to be tailored both for the rider and the conditions.

Front brake kit
The kit is suitable for both road and race use. The upgraded components are better able to cope with the increased forces and heat associated with higher speeds. The 6 piston caliper produces less heat than a 4 piston caliper and rigidity of the monoblock design transfers more braking power to the disc.

The kit contains:
6 piston monoblock caliper
Caliper mounting bracket
320mm full floating disc
Goodridge brake line (either braided steel or kevlar)
Brake fluid (either DOT5 or DOT5.1)
Brake pads (race compound pads)

Price: £610.00 (including VAT)

Front brake conversion
A complete front brake conversion aimed at riders and racers who want a high performance upgrade. This conversion has the benefits of the front brake kit with the added advantage of the matching ISR master cylinder designed to get the best from the ISR caliper. A clutch lever is also included, both to provide matching levers and to give a smoother, more controllable action.

The conversion contains:
6 piston monoblock caliper
Caliper mounting bracket
320mm full floating disc
Goodridge brake line (either braided steel or kevlar)
14mm bore master cylinder (adjustable lever +£25)
Wire clutch (adjustable lever +£25)
Brake fluid (either DOT5 or DOT5.1)
Brake pads (race compound pads)

Prices: £780.00 (including VAT)
(The wire clutch can be replaced with a hydraulic clutch for an extra £70)
